Beijing Opera

I have to say the opera was NOT what i expected...at all. We got there and it was really neat, we got to watch/take pics of the people while they painted on their face...The show started at about 7:30 and from the very beginning it was great...I thought i was going to get a headache at first because when they did speak/sing it was SOOOO high pitched. But it was fun. They had screens with english subtitles, and that was funny too because of the translations... There wasn't a lot of singing talking, but rather more moving/jumping/swords/ that kind of stuff to the instruments playing. Which was really cool. We got a lot of pics and video, but of course i can't post them on here. :( sorry. They had these guys that reminded me of the munchicans* (spelling) from the wizard of Oz....except they were chinese. They did the flips and it was pretty cool. I believe what we saw was the "Monkey King" There was also this one guy who would breath out fire from his mouth... :) All in all it was a wonderful night. Now, it's almost 10 pm and i have to get up early b/c me and barbie are going to the early service. Goodnight and much love.
