Wonderful Day! :)
Last night was a night i didn't get much sleep....sleeping on a wooden bed isn't the most fun i've ever had in my life...I woke up every couple hours till i finally decided to get up at about 5:15 in the AM....gross i know, but what's a girl to do...luckily i got to talk to Aaron because he was on. :) That's a great way to start a day, no matter how tired i am. heh Got up, talked to him a bit, showered, quiet time, breakfast (bowl of fruit loops) and then the training began. Such a great day...We went over a lot of things JD would have loved, due to the class we had this last semester.... Oh so facinating to me...we had great discussion and application. My chopstick skills are improving...not by much but hey, we can rejoice with what little progress i'm making...i can anyway. :) For lunch today we went to this little place where i had some rice and pork and some other stuff...i'm just not asking what anything really is, that way i can eat it without wanting to hurl. More mandarin lessons today, it was a good day...while it's still hard, i feel like today i'm beginnning to make progress...we are learining words and phrases here and there, it's fun....of course we have fun with it because we know we sound ridiculous.... :) Tonight we went to the night market and all the public transportation is a new experience...and well lets just say so are the smells....I'm also pretty sure i'm going to have some masive muscles after this year, due to the holding on to the "monkey bar" type handles when riding the bus or subway...haha i can't imagine what it would be like to ride like that in dallas....haha wouldn't be pretty. At the night market we walked around for awhile...i exchanged some money, but oh how proud Aaron would be...i didn't buy anything...i don't know if i was just too tired to shop or what, but none of us bought anything tangible anyway....we stopped to get this dessert that was like shaved ice, but it was different, it was so so so so good....the texture was different, and of course sav and i had the coffee kind. :) yummy. We then went to the food court to eat dinner....Oh we got culture alright. We had trad. food....Nothing was just unbearable, most of it was good, some of the smells throughout the food court were quite the nast...things such as the stinky tofu...not so great. Headed back after we ate, and now i'm exhausted. I can't believe it's already almost Thursday....Well goodnight other half of the world. Seana misses you!
